Your journey at Pono Acres offers a beautiful outdoor activity special for every member of the family. Begin in the cozy barn, where you’ll meet adorable piglets – including one precious piglet ready for a delightful mud bath (don’t worry, it’s exclusively for him!). From there, two beautiful ponies will charm their way into your heart, often following right behind you. You’ll encounter majestic horses grazing in the forest, and can even collect your own fresh chicken eggs, immersing yourself in nature’s purest embrace. Photographing Pono Acres was a unique lesson in patience and observation. With so many wonderful animals, the challenge was waiting for that perfect, unscripted moment. As Cartier Bresson famously said, «You just have to live and life will give you the images.» Here, it’s truly about building the photograph, not just taking it. My focus was on letting each animal’s spirit, tenderness, and unique look shine through—seeking the image that connects with pure emotion, rather than a posed shot.
